Born on September 30, 1959, in Odeomu, Osun State, southwestern Nigeria, Adeboye’s early life was marked by his passion for entertainment. He began his career as a chief host of a popular radio program presented in Lagos State Broadcasting Corporation in the early 1980s, where he gained the nickname ‘Funwontan Oduology.’
Adeboye was not only a talented comedian but also a generous one. Veteran Nigerian actress Idowu Philips, whose first car was a gift from the comedian, described him as such. His fans also regarded him as a merchant and performer of traditional Oduology.
Sadly, Adeboye passed away on April 30, 2003, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Today, we honor his memory and celebrate his contributions to the world of entertainment. Rest on, legend.
