The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), in a unanimous decision, has appointed Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, as the interim chairman of Zone 2 within the union.
During their Zonal Conference held at the Zone 2 Council Secretariat in Osogbo, the union made this announcement.
Additionally, the union has made a plea to Governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
They have requested these governors to reinstate NURTW activities in their respective states, thereby allowing them the opportunity to nominate candidates for the position of national president, which is designated for the Southwest zone.
This appointment of Akinsanya as acting chairman for the zone will remain in effect until an election is conducted later this month.
