A man, identified only as Collins, has been apprehended in connection with the alleged murder of his female partner, a 300-level undergraduate at the University of Port Harcourt.
This tragic event unfolded on NTA Road, Mgbuoba, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The victim, Justina Otuene Nkang, a student majoring in Biological Chemistry, had been reported missing four days prior.
She was carrying out her Industrial Training attachment at a well-known private hospital in the D/Line area of Port Harcourt, and this is where she was last seen.
A reliable source close to the victim revealed that Justina’s decomposed and mutilated remains were discovered in her boyfriend’s apartment, which she had visited after finishing her work at the hospital four days ago.
According to the source, the suspect murdered the deceased with intentions related to rituals, resulting in the mutilation of her breast, eyes, and other sensitive body parts.
The source further explained, “After committing the crime, he kept her body in his apartment for three days.
However, as he was about to dispose of her corpse in a refuse dump, a local vigilante group in the area apprehended him, leading to his arrest.”
