In a spectacular and unforgettable display that seamlessly blended the world of opulence and fashion with the artistry of renowned creative designer Mai Atafo, a remarkable collaboration unfolded with the globally acclaimed Scotch whisky brand, The Macallan.

This extraordinary event took place at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, unveiling the Spring/Summer ’24 collection. Under the captivating theme ‘Sartorial Reverie,’ it drew a distinguished assembly of over 700 attendees who were treated to the sight of 70 models strutting down the runway in 90 impeccable outfits.

The event garnered luminaries from the creative industry, including the likes of Richard-Mofe Damijo, Aituaje ‘Waje’ Iruobe, Banky Wellington, Adesua Wellington, Alexx Ekubo, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Shaffy Bello, IK Osakioduwa, Timi Dakolo, IK Ogbonna, Prince Nelson-Enwerem, Akin Faminu, Idia Aisen, Dimma Umeh, Mimi ‘Medlin Boss Yina, and Ilebaye Odinaya, among others.

As the evening commenced, guests had the opportunity to network, savor ultra-premium whisky, and capture memorable moments in photographs.

Soon after, the runway show transported the audience on a sartorial odyssey, accompanied by a delightful orchestra that elevated the entire exhibition.

The event reached new heights as models showcased the collection, embodying ATAFO’s timeless tailoring and innovative essence through a harmonious blend of contemporary design elements.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Hammed Adebiyi, Brand Manager at Edrington Portfolio, Nigeria, expressed his delight, stating, “The ATAFO brand exemplifies The Macallan’s commitment to craftsmanship and unparalleled spirit.

This showcase provides a unique opportunity to reinforce our dedication to Nigeria’s vibrant creative industry.”

Mai Atafo, the Creative Designer behind ATAFO, shared his thoughts on the collaboration, saying, “Partnering with a brand as distinguished as The Macallan is an honor. They recognize the significance of an event of this magnitude, which is truly remarkable.

Fashion often goes unnoticed in the world of sponsorships, making The Macallan’s involvement even more notable.

The collection ‘Sartorial Reverie’ is a testament to my commitment to elevating the craftsmanship at ATAFO, and there’s no better way to emphasize mastery than with The Macallan.”

The menswear collection featured a blend of sophisticated and modern garments suitable for a variety of life’s occasions, drawing inspiration from ATAFO’s signature designs, such as the ‘schaket’ and ‘tradxedo.’

The women’s wear introduced a fresh, more feminine approach that seamlessly merged contemporary design with traditional Nigerian style.

As the night unfolded, the stylish guests in attendance were keenly aware that they had witnessed an elegant prelude to the fashion season, a showcase that epitomized craftsmanship, excellence, and innovation at its pinnacle—qualities that The Macallan has upheld for nearly two centuries.
