Anthony Joshua secured his third victory in 2023 with a TKO triumph over Otto Wallin during the headline bout of the “Day of Reckoning” event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Following wins against Jermaine Franklin in April and a seventh-round knockout against Robert Helenius in August, Joshua claimed a fifth-round technical knockout against Wallin, a formidable opponent with a southpaw stance.
Wallin’s sole defeat before facing Joshua occurred in 2019 against Tyson Fury, providing a challenging night for the lineal champion Fury despite a unanimous decision victory.
With this latest win, Joshua now boasts an impressive record of 27 victories and three losses, including 24 knockout wins.
Prior to Joshua’s fight, Deontay Wilder suffered a unanimous decision loss to former WBO heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker.
Joey Garnache, Wallin’s coach, wisely halted the fight to prevent his fighter from enduring further punishment.
Joshua’s performance was exceptional, and he confidently declared to his former rival Andy Ruiz after the match, “I’m back, I’m back.
