APC criticizes PDP on Independence Day while the opposition questions the content of Tinubu’s speech

Date:

The Peoples Democratic Party has attributed the current hardships faced by Nigerians to President Bola Tinubu and criticized his recent 63rd Independence Day address as lacking substance and innovative ideas.

The opposition party, through its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated that President Tinubu’s speech underscores the ruling APC administration’s apparent incapacity and incompetence in handling the vital task of governance, which appears beyond its capabilities.

The PDP expressed concern over the hasty implementation of poorly conceived policies by the current APC administration, leading to a severe economic downturn with devastating effects on the country’s productive sectors and causing widespread suffering among Nigerians.

Additionally, the PDP found fault with President Tinubu’s welfare package announcement, which offered a meager monthly stipend of N25,000 for six months to low-grade workers while still promoting his promise of Compressed Natural Gas buses.

In response, the Director of Publicity for the APC, Bala Ibrahim, placed the blame for Nigeria’s economic challenges squarely on the PDP.

He dismissed the PDP’s statements, emphasizing that the country’s current situation is a result of the PDP’s mismanagement during its time in power.

Ibrahim defended President Tinubu’s intentions in his broadcast, highlighting his commitment to addressing the needs of lower-grade workers and suggesting that the PDP’s criticism stems from their inability to accept their defeat and move on.
