On Tuesday, some residents of Ibadan, Oyo State, reported an explosion in parts of the state capital, with online videos depicting a dusty cloud and burning structures.
A University of Ibadan student mentioned, “We all heard the very loud sound, and the cloud was filled with smoke.
It occurred at Bodija, visible even from the UI area. People in Sango and Ojo also heard the sound; we are all in a room scared for our lives.”
Motunrayo Adegboro, residing in Barika, approximately 15 minutes away from the blast site, confirmed the incident, stating, “Some say it was a gas explosion, others mention a filling station. It happened in Bodija, and even a mall, Ace Mall, collapsed.”
A Twitter user, @WillieWinehouse, exclaimed, “A bomb just exploded in Ibadan! My house and street are in ruins!! What is going on!” Meanwhile, @the_beardedsina reported serious casualties at Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, urging medical personnel in Ibadan to assist.
