Joseph Aloba, the father of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has revealed the story of how the late singer and his wife, Wunmi, crossed paths at Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label.
Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, in Lagos State.
Joseph Aloba described Mohbad as a down-to-earth and unassuming person, mentioning that they had known each other since their early years in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos, before reuniting at Naira Marley’s label.
Interestingly, their connection at that time had no romantic involvement.
Wunmi, who is known to have given birth to the late Mohbad’s son Liam, has a connection to a lyric from Mohbad’s 2020 song “Komajensun,” where he sings about reconnecting with Wunmi at Marlian Records.
Aloba confirmed that they had initially met as acquaintances in Oke-Iletu, even though Wunmi was a student at the time.
Furthermore, the Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise.
Additionally, a Coroner’s inquest into the singer’s death has scheduled October 13, 2023, for witnesses to present their testimony.
Attorney Funmi Falana, representing Mohbad’s family, along with other lawyers, held closed-door discussions to plan the proceedings and ensure justice is served.
