“Envoys urge citizens to share uplifting narratives about Nigeria”

Date:

Chief Sarafa Isola, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, has emphasized the importance of sharing optimistic narratives about the nation.

He expressed concern over the tendency of Nigerians to focus on negative aspects rather than highlighting positive aspects about themselves and their country, including its leaders.

Ambassador Isola spoke during a morning business gathering in London, which was organized by Apostle Lawrence Achudume in partnership with Pomegranate Nigeria Limited.

The event took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in London, where he underscored the need to challenge the prevailing negative portrayals of Nigeria and its citizens.

He urged Nigerians to celebrate their strong work ethic, intelligence, and determination as entrepreneurs and adventurers.

Ambassador Isola encouraged everyone to actively promote positive values and narratives to make a meaningful impact.

He stated, “I take pride in my identity as a proud Nigerian, no matter where I am in the world. We possess the enduring Nigerian spirit that embodies resilience, hard work, and innovation.

However, the challenge lies in our tendency to neglect sharing these positive stories.”

In his address, Ambassador Isola urged Nigerians to cultivate self-belief and optimism about their country.

He questioned the practice of allowing outsiders to shape the narrative of Nigeria and its people, and he urged a more positive use of social media, advocating against its misuse for spreading misinformation and half-truths.
