Gbajabiamila Commissions 1,200-Capacity Auditorium at Abalti Barracks, Says Military Deserves Recognition

Date:

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, has reiterated the importance of honoring Nigeria’s armed forces, describing their sacrifices as central to sustaining democracy in the country.

Gbajabiamila made the remark on Friday while inaugurating a 1,200-capacity auditorium he facilitated at the Abalti Army Barracks in Surulere, Lagos. The project, he said, was part of his commitment to improving the welfare and working environment of military personnel.

He commended the Nigerian Army for its role in defending the nation’s sovereignty and ensuring peace, stressing that the dividends of democracy must extend to those who safeguard it.

“The military deserves recognition not only for their courage on the battlefield but also for their daily contributions to keeping our society stable. This facility is a modest way of showing appreciation for their service,” Gbajabiamila stated.

The newly commissioned auditorium is expected to serve as a multipurpose venue for training, official functions, and welfare activities for officers and their families at the barracks.

Senior military officers, community leaders, and government representatives attended the ceremony, which was marked by cultural performances and a parade in honor of the Chief of Staff.
