Governor Mr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially endorsed Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, as the Soun-elect of Ogbomosoland.

This announcement, made by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, on Saturday, underscores that the appointment adheres to the legal procedures.

Mr. Olayiwola emphasizes the crucial role of the monarch-elect in fostering unity, mutual understanding, and tolerance among the people.

He encourages the residents of Ogbomoso to collaborate with the new monarch to uphold the legacy of his predecessors.

The throne had been vacant since the passing of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi on December 12, 2021.”
