Mark Angel, Taooma are most viewed Nigerian skit makers in Q1 — Report

Nigerian skit makers, Mark Angel and Maryam Apaokagi aka Taooma, have emerged as the number one in both male and female categories of skit-making on Instagram in the first quarter of 2023 with 43.7 million views and 22.2 million views respectively.

According to the quarterly report on the entertainment industry’s skit-making sector released by a digital analytics firm, Dataleum, on Wednesday, the analysis was based on the number of views gained on their posted skits on Instagram.

Following Mark Angel is skit maker, Emmanuel Chuwkwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, with 35.0 million views.

Others in the male category include Samuel Perry aka Broda Shaggi with 30.3 million views followed by Agent of Laughter with 22.6 million views and Layiwasabi with 19.3 million.

Meanwhile, in the female category, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, aka Kiekie followed Taaooma with a total of 21.4 million views, 2.5 million likes, and 81.5k comments from 29 skits posted in the first quarter of 2023.

Throughout the Q1 in 2023, Nigerian actress, Bimbo Ademoye, gained 15.9 million views, with 22 skits posted, along with 70.2k comments and 1.9M likes.

Others in the top five female category include Phoebe with 9.7 million views, 984k likes, and 50 comments with a total of 45 skits then followed by Ashmusy with 7.2 million views, 607.1k likes, 26k comments and 12 skits.
