The Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police Force has officially disclosed that Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, has been implicated in the death of Mohbad, the singer, along with his friends Ibrahim Owoduni (known as Prime Boy) and Ayobami Sadiq.
Lagos State Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, shared this information during a media briefing regarding the ongoing investigation into the singer’s demise.
Owohunwa revealed that the police had questioned 26 individuals, leading to the identification, arrest, detention, and interrogation of five suspects believed to have played roles in the events surrounding the singer’s death.
He explained that on September 11, 2023, Ayobami Sadiq (aka Spending), a friend of Mohbad, contacted and invited Miss Feyisayo Ogedengbe to treat the singer at his Lekki-Lagos residence.
She arrived the following day, September 12, 2023, and administered three different injections.
It is suspected that these injections directly triggered a series of reactions resulting in the singer’s death.
Miss Ogedengbe, as an auxiliary nurse, admitted her role in the incident, and this admission was corroborated by expert opinions and witness statements.
Her actions were deemed highly negligent, as she administered Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol (IV), and Ceftriaxone injection (IV) in a non-clinical setting, contrary to standard medical protocols.
The situation leading to Mohbad’s death also involved a physical altercation with Prime Boy following a performance in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The disagreement escalated, resulting in Mohbad injuring his hand and refusing medical attention.
Additionally, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were linked to cyberbullying, physical abuse, threats to life, and assault against the late Mohbad, though they denied direct involvement in his death.
Nevertheless, electronic evidence and credible witnesses pointed to their involvement in these other offenses against Mohbad while he was still alive.
The investigation files have been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal guidance.
