Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, clinched the prestigious Italian Footballersβ Association Footballer of the Year title in recognition of his outstanding performance with the Neopolitans last season.
The award ceremony, held on Monday night, featured various accolades, including team of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, and goal of the season.
Osimhen’s remarkable tally of 26 goals played a pivotal role in securing Partenopei’s first Scudetto in 33 years.
This achievement has not only earned him nominations for esteemed awards like FIFA Best and Ballon d’Or but also secured his place in the Serie A team of the year alongside standout players such as Mike Maignan, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Andrea Bastoni, Theo HernΓ‘ndez, Stanislav Lobotka, Hakan ΓalhanoΔlu, Nicolo Barella, Rafael LeΓ£o, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite facing initial challenges in the 2023-24 campaign and recent struggles with injuries, Osimhen has maintained an impressive goals-per-game ratio, netting six goals in 10 appearances over the course of 14 games.
