Performers who sought miracles at the Synagogue of T.B. Joshua

Date:

Following the release of a documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation’s ‘Africa Eye’ on the late preacher, Prophet TB Joshua, from the Synagogue Church of All Nations, the media has been buzzing with varied opinions regarding the controversies surrounding the late cleric.

The three-part documentary made serious allegations, accusing the late cleric of rape and torture against some church members, and suggesting that certain miracles were staged. As the controversy persists, ‘Saturday Beats’ recalls the visits of several entertainers to the church over the years.

In 2013, popular actor Jim Iyke’s visit went viral as he was supposedly being ‘delivered’ from an evil spirit. He later clarified that desperation led him to seek healing for his ailing mother, stating, “I will never be desperate again.”

Another actor, Hanks Anuku, claimed healing from mental illness at the church, but in 2023, concerns arose over his mental state as pictures of him surfaced looking unkempt.

Rapper and former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Munachi Abii, visited the church without disclosing her reason. Singer Victor AD credited Joshua with healing him from a skin disease at six and curing his sister’s blindness, along with healing his mother’s gunshot injury.

Former Big Brother Naija contestants, Kesiena Adjekpovu (Kess) and Chukwuemeka Okoye (Frodd), expressed unwavering support, with Frodd sharing that Joshua granted him a scholarship during his university days.

Veteran actress Fausat Balogun (Madam Saje) also pledged support, emphasizing Joshua’s positive impact and advocacy for better lives, asserting that such contributions shouldn’t be overshadowed by any claims or institutions, including the BBC.
