President Tinubu Champions Global AI Standards and Resource Value Addition at G20

Date:

At the Third Session of the 2025 G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the urgent need for global ethical standards in Artificial Intelligence (AI), insisting that this rapidly evolving technology must remain “a servant of humanity.”

Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu also urged world leaders to ensure value addition for critical minerals at source, stressing that African communities should benefit directly from their own natural resources.

The summit session, themed “A Fair and Just Future for All: Critical Minerals, Decent Work, Artificial Intelligence,” brought together global leaders to discuss fair economic practices, technological ethics, and inclusive growth strategies.

Tinubu’s intervention highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to ethical technology deployment and equitable resource management, positioning the country as a vocal advocate for both innovation responsibility and African economic sovereignty on the global stage.
