The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, received a generous donation of N1 billion from philanthropist and entrepreneur, Mr. Femi Otedola, on Wednesday.

The contribution is aimed at bolstering the state’s security architecture through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

The donation ceremony took place at the Lagos House, Marina, with the presence of the LSSTF Chairman, Mr. Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti, LSSTF Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Abdurrazak Balogun, and other state officials along with LSSTF Board of Directors

Represented by his daughter, Olawunmi Otedola, Mr. Femi Otedola, the Chairman of Geregu Power Plc, and son of the late Third Republic Governor of Lagos State, Sir Michael Otedola, expressed his commitment to supporting the cause.

Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the philanthropic gesture, highlighting that this N1 billion donation, the largest individual contribution to LSSTF, would significantly contribute to fostering a peaceful atmosphere and creating a conducive business environment for both investors and residents.

Expressing gratitude, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged other Nigerians to emulate Otedola’s generosity, emphasizing that there are no limits to contributions.

He welcomed well-meaning Lagosians and corporate entities to support LSSTF, emphasizing its openness to additional donors.
