The Supreme Court is set to render its verdict today on the presidential election dispute involving Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi

Date:

The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, along with the two opposition parties, namely the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, are expressing strong confidence in their victory as they await the Supreme Court’s judgment regarding the February 25 presidential election today.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) are contesting the declaration of President Bola Tinubu from the APC as the winner of the election.

Their initial petitions against President Tinubu were dismissed by the Presidential Election Petitions Court in September, leading the PDP and LP, represented by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to approach the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the election results.

The Supreme Court, after hearing the cases on Monday, has now scheduled the judgment for Thursday.

Dr. Festus Akande, the Supreme Court’s Director of Information, confirmed this, saying, “Tomorrow, Thursday has been set for judgment on the appeals brought by Atiku and Peter Obi.

In response to this announcement, all three parties are expressing optimism about the upcoming verdict.

The APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, firmly believes that the Supreme Court will affirm Tinubu’s victory, citing the compelling evidence presented.

On the contrary, the National Legal Adviser of the LP, Kehinde Edun, is confident that their candidate, Peter Obi, will emerge victorious, emphasizing their presentation of fresh evidence.

The PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, urges the Supreme Court to look beyond narrow considerations in their judgment, highlighting the importance of the decision for the future of the country.
