Tinubu settles the N12 billion debt owed to the Super Eagles and other entities

President Bola Tinubu has settled the long-standing debts owed by the Federal Government to the Super Eagles and other national sports teams.

The statement from Tinubu’s Media Centre confirmed that this payment covers a range of outstanding issues, including clearing 15 months’ worth of salaries for senior national team coaches, settling allowances and commitments owed to various national teams – including the female teams and the Under-20 national team.

The statement emphasized that President @officialABAT has given the green light for the clearance of a N12 billion backlog owed to Nigeria’s national sports teams, notably the Super Eagles, ahead of their participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations later this month.
