Why I chose not to dismiss former CBN governor Emefiele, as explained by Buhari

Date:

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has clarified his decision not to dismiss the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, amid speculations about Emefiele’s presidential aspirations in the 2023 elections.

Buhari revealed in the memoir ‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015 – 2023),’ authored by his former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, that he refrained from removing Emefiele due to a lack of concrete evidence supporting the claim of presidential ambitions.

Buhari emphasized the importance of fairness and the need for substantial proof before taking any punitive action.
