Singer Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, who goes by the name Brymo, has referred to his proposition of a sexual relationship with his female colleague, Simisola Kosoko, also known as Simi, as an “artistic endeavor.”
This statement from Brymo stirred controversy when he disclosed in a voice note on X (formerly Twitter) that he had requested a sexual involvement with Simi in exchange for a music collaboration.
This revelation did not sit well with Simi’s husband, singer Adekunle Gold, who sternly cautioned Brymo to “stay away” from his wife and cease showing disrespect to his family.
Nevertheless, in a recent interview with TVC, Brymo defended his previous advances towards the “Tiff” singer, characterizing it as “an artistic pursuit.”
He elaborated by explaining that when Adekunle Gold initially sought a collaboration, he declined, stating that he was not interested in collaborating at that time.
However, when Simi approached him two weeks later, he still did not know about her relationship with Adekunle Gold.
Brymo then proposed that he would only collaborate if they had an intimate connection, citing Adekunle Gold’s connection with her as a precedent for exceptional music quality.
Simi declined his proposal, and he respected her decision.
Brymo clarified that his proposition was not exclusive to Simi and that he had collaborated with several women without any sexual involvement.
Therefore, he emphasized that his intentions were rooted in the pursuit of artistic excellence rather than seeking sexual favors in exchange for collaborations.
