Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, expressed his eagerness to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Speaking on an X space forum, he emphasized his deep connection to the Nigerian league, citing it as his foundation.

Musa, who rose to prominence with Kano Pillars, outlined his intention to make a prolonged return to the NPFL in the future.

Despite a successful decade in Europe, he conveyed his heartfelt commitment to showcasing his love for the Nigerian League by staying for an extended period.

Having been the top scorer in the NPFL during the 2009/10 season, Musa’s football journey took him to clubs like VVV Venlo and Leicester City. He briefly rejoined Kano Pillars in 2021.

Looking ahead, the 31-year-old forward aspires to contribute to Nigeria’s quest for the 2026 World Cup, expressing optimism about making a comeback for the qualifiers in June.

Musa, who boasts significant international experience with appearances in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, shared his dream of participating in a third World Cup.

Despite being excluded from the squad in November, he conveyed his determination to return, stating, “It’s my dream to play in another World Cup.

I believe we have a squad that is equally determined to qualify.”
