AMVCA organizers requested 2023 entries.

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for a ninth season. The organizers, MultiChoice Nigeria and Africa Magic, said higher level awards would be given. The 8th awards ceremony, held on May 8, 2022, was a real treat for everyone who attended the event or watched it on TV.

The organizers are asking African filmmakers to submit films and films to be screened or publicly broadcast between December 1, 2021 and January 31, 2023 for this year’s awards ceremony. The entrance portal opens on February 20, 2023 and closes on March 10, 2023. Any film (theatrical or otherwise), TV movie or series is eligible if it falls within the stipulated period.

To qualify for the award, filmmakers must film a five-minute showreel. The video must be less than 300MB and must be submitted to the African Magic website.

Busola Tejumola, Head of Content & Channels West Africa, told MultiChoice about the upcoming award ceremony: We had an 8-day celebration of activity that touched different aspects of the industry. Since then, we are happy to celebrate this at the 9th awards ceremony. This year, AMVCA will once again demonstrate our resolve by highlighting our incredible talents in the African film and television industry.

This edition also includes the Top Social Online Content Creator category created last year. Famous comedian Sabinus, aka Mr. 1st Prize Winner – Funny. The award celebrates the growing recognition of content creators in Africa. There are also categories such as Pioneer and Lifetime Achievement Awards, which are often emotional wins.

Popular with both men and women, the Best Dressed category is another highlight that many people are looking for. For events that attract numerous celebrities dressed as deaths, choosing a winner in this category is usually a difficult task. The duo of Osas Ighodaro and Denola Grey received the award last year.
