How to watch BBNaija as S7 premieres Saturday

The seventh season of one of the biggest reality TV shows in Nigeria, Big Brother Naija, is set to premiere on Saturday, July 24, 2022.

Just like the previous season, the BBNaija season 7 launch will hold for two days, July 23 and 24, 2022.

The programme launch, which will involve the introduction of housemates, will be aired across all Africa Magic and BBNaija channels on DStv and GOtv.

The programme premiere will be aired on DStv channels 151, 153, 154, 198, and GOtv channels 2, 6, and 29 by 7:00pm on both days.

Subsequently, the show will air on the 24-hour channels 198 on DStv and 29 on GOtv.

Fans across Africa will also be able to stream via African online streaming service, Showmax.

For this season, media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, returns as the host of the show.

At a media briefing to unveil the new season of the show, the Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Dr Busola Tejumola, revealed that the company recorded over 40,000 audition entries for BBNaija this season.

She added that this season’s housemates will undergo a psychology evaluation before going into the house.

Tejunmola also stated that some of the other exciting things to expect this season are the pre-COVID-19 elements, including the ninjas and the exciting live audience.

Also, this year’s winner will be walking home with a N100m grand prize— a cash prize of N50m and N50m worth of prizes from the sponsors. In addition, 30 fans of the show will win N1m each in the ‘Fave Lock-In’ promo exclusive to DStv and GOtv customers.

According to her, the show will retain its voting style from last year, as it (voting) will only be on the Big Brother Naija website, mobile site, and the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps for active customers.

The number of votes each subscriber will have will be determined by their subscription packages.

 

 

JAMB approves cut-off marks for varsities, polytechnics

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, on Thursday, approved cut-off marks for universities and polytechnics in the country.

The decision was taken after a heated session comprising officials from JAMB, the Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission, and the National Board for Technical Education among others.

For the polytechnics, 120 cut-off mark was approved while 140 was approved for universities.

 The reported that the JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, at the 2022 policy meeting revealed that only 378,639 of the 1,761,338 who wrote the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations scored 200 and above.

While giving further statistics of the 2022 examination, Oloyede noted that 378,639 scored above 200; a total of 520,596 candidates scored 190 and above; 704,991 scored 180 and above; 934,103 scored 170 and above; 1,192, 057 scored 160 and above.

Speaking further, Oloyede noted that the board allowed candidates with awaiting results to register for the 2022 UTME.

“JAMB allowed awaiting results candidates to register and sit for the 2022 UTME. These candidates can’t be considered for admission on awaiting result status. They must present their O’level results on the board’s portal before the commencement of admissions”.

 

 

UBA Dubai targets corporates, financial institutions’ clients

The UBA Dubai has commenced operations, focusing on corporates and financial institutions’ clients, the bank announced yesterday.

In a report entitled: Five key facts about UBA’s Operations in Dubai, UBA Group said the Dubai Branch will engage new corporate and financial institution clients and refer them to other UBA Group subsidiaries and branches for on-boarding, lending, among other services.

The bank said it is taking the step because it has ‘advising and arranging’ licence in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai, which means it does not extend credit or take deposit in Dubai.

Actress Ada Ameh dies in Delta hospital She died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm on Sunday, a source who pleaded anonymity said on Monday morning.

 

Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed.

 

She was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s hospital but passed on before they arrived at the facility.
