FG Announces Wednesday, September 27th as a Designated Public Holiday

The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as a public holiday in honor of the Eil-ul-Maulid celebration, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a statement released by Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, on behalf of Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, heartfelt congratulations are extended to Muslims for the privilege of observing this year’s significant occasion.

Furthermore, the Minister implores all to embrace the profound values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

In a special message to the younger generation, the Minister encourages them to embrace hard work and maintain peaceful relations with fellow citizens, regardless of differences in faith, ideology, social class, or ethnicity.
