Lagos inks a $1.35 billion agreement for the Fourth Mainland Bridge and other significant projects

The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Access Bank, has solidified a substantial $1.352 billion investment commitment for long-term infrastructure projects within the state.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who executed the agreement on behalf of the state government, shared this momentous news on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The pact was formalized during the Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 in Guyana.

Within the framework of this partnership, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted several pivotal initiatives, including the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Omu Creek Project, and the second phase of the LRMT Blue Line extending from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko. He emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to ushering in a brighter future for the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu pointed out that the vision for Lagos is swiftly transforming into reality, with the imminent establishment of the Lekki-Epe International Airport and the Lagos Food Systems and Logistics Hub in Epe.

These ventures are poised to significantly bolster the state’s economy and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

In his own words, “It was a momentous occasion in Guyana at the Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 as we have secured a strategic partnership with the African Export-Import Bank and Access Bank, paving the way for a substantial $1.352 billion investment in Lagos.

This investment will propel our extensive infrastructure projects, serving as a testament to the confidence displayed by both international and local partners in our thriving economy.

As we progress, this investment will be instrumental in materializing key projects, such as the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Omu Creek Project, and the second phase of the LRMT Blue Line from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.
