The Fame Foundation advocates for increased investments in the rights of girls

Date:

On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child 2023 (IDG2023), FAME Foundation is advocating for increased support and investment in girls’ rights.

Arabinrin Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, the Executive Director of FAME Foundation, emphasized the critical need to acknowledge and bolster girls’ rights, expressing that girls represent the future as leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

By investing in their rights, we empower them to shape a more promising future for all.

In observance of this day, FAME Foundation is hosting a workshop for girls to demonstrate their commitment to nurturing and facilitating their growth.

This event will serve as a platform for girls to explore their potential, amplify their voices, and gain access to resources that will enable them to become influential leaders in their communities.

Arabinrin Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello also highlighted the numerous challenges that girls face globally, including discrimination, limited access to education, child marriage, and gender-based violence.

This year’s theme urges us all to dismantle these barriers and invest in girls’ rights.

Investing in girls’ rights entails ensuring their equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunities.

It involves creating an environment where girls can make informed decisions about their lives and bodies, while also protecting them from all forms of violence, exploitation, and harmful practices. Upholding girls’ rights enables their leadership potential to flourish, ultimately contributing to a brighter and more equitable world for everyone.

Furthermore, Ms. Ogunleye-Bello underscored the pivotal role of the girl-child in our societies, emphasizing that their well-being directly influences our communities and nations.

When we invest in girls, e are essentially investing in the well-being of our future.

It is a continuous journey that demands collective commitment and dedication.

Under the theme “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” FAME Foundation, a non-profit organization, will emphasize the significance of empowering girls to lead and thrive by focusing on their rights and the opportunities they deserve.
