Date:

John Obot, a Nigerian man and a devoted member of the Uyo Book Club, has embarked on a remarkable journey to challenge the Guinness World Record for ‘The Longest Marathon Reading Aloud’ by an individual.

This extraordinary endeavor commenced last Saturday at the esteemed City View Hall in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, with the goal of extending over an impressive 145 hours.

As of the latest update, John Obot, driven by his passion for books, has dedicated an astounding 16 hours to the marathon, as reported by Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, on Sunday.

It’s noteworthy to mention that the current record holder for this impressive feat is Turkey’s Rysbai Isakov, who set the bar high in 2022 by reading aloud for an astonishing 124 hours and 15 minutes.

John Obot’s determination and commitment are surely setting the stage for an exciting challenge to this record.
