Davido Made History With We Rise By Lifting Others concert

Davido much-anticipated We Rise By Lifting Others (WRBLO) concert at the renowned 02 arena, in London set the paced and paved ways for Africa Music.

On the 5th of March 2022, Nigerian superstar musician Davido performed to a fully-booked audience at the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena in London and these videos from fans show that it was an electrifying experience.

Davido performed his years-old hits – Skelewu, Gobe, Aye – entertained fans with his globally acclaimed jams, IF and Fall, and then set the roof on fire with his more recent hits High (with Adekunle Gold), Champion Sound (with South Africa’s Focalistic) and Baddest Boy Remix (with Skiibii).

The music star also brought notable artists on stage, including Zlatan, CKay, Patoranking, Mayorkun, Adekunle Gold, Pheelz, Victony, Yung Bleu, Not3s, Tion Wayne, Russ Millions, among others, with Jamaica’s Popcaan surprising him on stage.

The seasoned actress shared the surreal experience she has had since filming started, working with ace director, Bolanle Austen-Peters and the amazing crew.

She went on to note that filming in Egba, Abeaokuta and with the most revered veteran geniuses in Nollywood space, having a member of the Kuti family on set and working with some of the talented fashion designers in the country, to the insightful conversations about FRK, has been something akin to a dream.

FILMMAKER KEMI ADETIBA REVEALS A KOB SPINOFF IS IN THE WORKS

Members of the KOB army can rest easy as there’s hope for something new from Kemi Adetiba regarding her King of Boys franchise.

The recently engaged filmmaker announced last week that there will be a spinoff of her hit film, King of Boys.

Adetiba, 42, shared this via her Instagram stories after a fan reached out to her to develop a spin-off that would focus on one of the characters of the movie, Odogwu Malay played by rapper, Illbliss.

The fan had said, “Dear Kemi Adetiba if you see this please reply. My friends @jvalgram made a tweet about a possible spinoff for the KOB universe. It is centered around Odogwu Malay. I was so intrigued and fascinated by it, hence this. All you have to do is give him a listening ear.

The filmmaker replies that this was already in the works. “We already have one in the works,” she said.

Hollywood legend, Morgan Freeman Announces Davido’s Upcoming O2 Arena Concert

Davido has enlisted the services Hollywood legend, Morgan Freeman regarding his upcoming “We Rise By Lifting Others” concert scheduled to hold at O2 Arena, London.

The singer shared a promotional video on anticipation of his concert slated for March 5, 2022 with the is a famous Hollywood legend lending his voice to the voice-over.

This is a rather huge feat as Freeman has been the voice-over for corporations like Netflix and comedian Dave Chappelle.

He is also famous for playing God in the movie ‘Evan Almighty’ and his role in the critically acclaimed movie , ‘Shawshank Redemption’.

CKay Sets the Record as ‘Love Nwantiti’ Certified Platinum in UK

CKay sets the record as the first Nigerian artist to have a song BRIT-certified platinum song

The record-breaking song ‘Love Nwantiti’ (ah ah ah) from Afrobeats singer, CKay is now certified platinum in the UK shortly after it hit its platinum status in the US.

BRIT Awards Twitter handle was used to congratulate the singer, and tell the rest of the world this feat accomplished by the Nigerian music star.

“‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’, the single by
@ckay_yo
, is now #BRITcertified Platinum,” wrote BRIT Awards on Twitter.

CKay sets the record as the first Nigerian artist to have a song BRIT-certified platinum song after selling over 600,000 of the hit song.

The song also achieved platinum status in Canada, Austria, Italy, New Zealand and Portugal as well.

‘Love Nwantiti’ (ah ah ah) by CKay was released in 2019, and has continued to break record after record as it was certified platinum in the UK shortly after it hit its platinum status in the US as well.

The song was originally released as part of Ckay’s 8-track E.P, and it became one of the best performing songs on the E.P and earned itself a remix with afro pop star Joeboy and Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene which was released in 2020 and became a big hit all over the world
