Afrobeats superstar Davido has joined Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote in New York as the campaign for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO) continues to attract attention.
The two were recently spotted at Times Square, where the Dangote Refinery IPO appeared on a Nasdaq digital billboard carrying the message “Made in Nigeria. Built for the World.”
Davido later shared a conversation with Dangote focused on what has been branded “The IPO for the People,” asking the businessman about the thinking behind opening the refinery to public investors and how Nigerians can participate.
The public offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares, or ₦5,250. The offer opened on 14 September 2026 and is scheduled to close on 13 October 2026.
During their conversation, Dangote said broader ownership is intended to allow more people to participate in the wealth and value created by major African businesses. He also indicated that the group intends to pursue wider ownership opportunities across other businesses in the future.
The Davido–Dangote meeting brings together two globally recognised Nigerian names from entertainment and industry, while taking the refinery’s public-offer campaign to an international stage.
“When two generations of Nigerian ambition meet, the conversation is worth listening to,” Davido shared.
The campaign is encouraging prospective investors to use approved subscription channels and review the official prospectus before investing.
