Ibadan explosion aftermath: Additional survivors share their harrowing experiences as the government introduces a donation platform

Additional residents impacted by the recent explosion in Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State, have shared their harrowing experiences.

The explosion on Dejo Oyelese street resulted in five fatalities, 77 people with varying degrees of injuries, and damage to 58 houses. Governor Seyi Makinde presented a preliminary report to President Bola Tinubu.

A resident, Olusegun Fashina, described the damage to windows, doors, and ceilings, emphasizing the impact on glass structures.

Photos obtained revealed shattered windows and broken ceilings in affected apartments. A student, Moyin Ezekiel, mentioned a schoolmate experiencing memory loss due to the blast, causing them to miss a seminar presentation.

Fashina acknowledged the government’s emergency center and urged affected individuals to file complaints.

Governor Makinde assured justice for victims, highlighting ongoing efforts to collect details and establish support measures.

The government set up a donation platform, channeling funds directly to the victims through the residents’ association’s bank account.

Makinde emphasized commitment to rebuilding lives.
