Why it’s crucial for me to be present during the DNA test for Mohbad’s son

0

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has provided reasons for his insistence that the Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test for his deceased child’s son, Liam, must be conducted in his presence.

Aloba stressed the importance of the DNA test to resolve the heated controversy surrounding the paternity of the child and other issues involving his son, the former Marlian singer, and his wife.

He spoke in an interview with Stams TV, emphasizing the significance of the test and refuting rumors about the DNA test mentioned in a post by popular skit maker OGBCultist, believed to be Mohbad’s friend.

Furthermore, Aloba proposed that the DNA test should be carried out at two different hospitals to ensure the accuracy of the results.

He stated, “Regarding the DNA test, it’s imperative that they conduct it. Nigerians are demanding it.

I’ve heard rumors about its completion, but regardless, as Mohbad’s father, I’m willing to consent to the DNA test or appoint a representative if I cannot be present during the procedure. I insist that it should be performed at two distinct locations to ascertain the truth.”

Aloba also expressed his personal interest in the police concluding their investigation swiftly to allow for the burial of his late child. He mentioned, “I will contact the police chief to inquire if we can proceed with the burial.

Many have reported sightings of Mohbad’s ghost, which is likely due to the delay in his burial. I would greatly appreciate it if this matter is addressed as soon as possible.”

MohBad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, leading to controversies and nationwide protests among Nigerians.

His former label boss, Azeez Fashola (Naira Marley), and his associate, Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), were named among the five prime suspects in the case.

The Nigerian Governors Forum has called upon its members to designate a minimum of 15% of their state budgets towards the education sector.

During a briefing held in Abuja by the Federal Ministry of Education, Chairman of the Forum, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, emphasized the importance of this commitment.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Education and the United Nations Children’s Fund, under the theme “Scaling Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in Nigeria.”

Representing Kwara State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, in his capacity as Vice Chairman of NGF, stressed the urgency of removing barriers hindering access to education.

He underscored the significance of adhering to UNESCO standards for a progressive and sustainable education system, stating that governors across states must allocate more than 15% of their budgets to education.

Governor Makinde voiced his support for declaring a state of emergency in the education sector but emphasized the necessity of backing this declaration with tangible actions and resources.

He insisted that not only should a state of emergency be declared, but also all the essential resources and measures must be put in place to facilitate rapid progress.

Recognizing the crisis in the education system, he advocated for a state of emergency to be declared in all sectors, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive, collective effort.

Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, acknowledged the urgency of addressing the learning crisis, highlighting that education is the foundation of societal progress and individual empowerment.

Benzema’s Endorsement of Palestine Causes Controversy in France

All our prayers for the inhabitants of Gaza, whom are once again victims of these unjust bombings that spare neither women nor children.

Karim Benzema (on X)

“Mister Karim Benzema has notorious ties, as we all know, with the Muslim Brotherhood

French Interior Minister, Gerald Darmanin

The French interior minister, Darmanin backed up his claim that Benzema had links to the Muslim Brotherhood by highlighting his refusal to sing the La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, for which he was regularly criticised during his time playing for France.

He also drew attention to a photo in which Benzema was pictured alongside iman Meaux Nourdine Mamoune, whose home was searched in 2020 as part of an investigation into the murder of French secondary school teacher Samuel Paty, who was killed by an Islamic terrorist.

Lastly, Darmanin referred to the player liking a social media post by Russian MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagedov attacking French president Emmanuel Macron and his “disciples” for “insulting the faith” of more than 1.5 billion Muslims.

Karim Benzema is an “agent of Hamas propaganda,”

In a tweet, footballer Karim Benzema sent “his prayers” to the residents of Gaza. “All our prayers for the inhabitants of Gaza who are once again victims of these unjust bombings which spare neither women nor children,” he wrote.

Remember, Karim Benzema was transferred to the Al-Ittihad club in Saudi Arabia last June and also benefits from dual nationality: French and Algerian.

Also, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Damanin, announced this Wednesday, October 18. that Karim Benzema is “in connection with the Muslim Brotherhood”.
Let us remember, as explained in particular by Florence Bergeaud-Blackler, anthropologist and responsible for research at the CNRS: “Muslim Brotherhood is a political-religious movement which has given itself the mission to organize the march of all Muslims towards the same objective: the establishment of Islamic society worldwide.

It is a theocratic movement which will ultimately have to get rid of democracy. “

If the statements of the Minister of Internal Affairs are true, we should consider sanctions against Karim Benzema.

Initially, it would be a symbolic sanction. withdrawing the Ballon d’Or.

Finally, we must request loss of citizenship. We cannot accept that a French dual national, internationally known, can dishonor and even betray our country in this way.

Sen. Valérie Boyer represents Bouches-du-Rhône in the French Senate

Everything is false. Benzema never had any relationship with ‘Muslim Brotherhood’. We are thinking about prosecutions against this minister in application, for example, of the law on the manipulation of information dear to our government… and defamation or even public insult.”

Fayemi Urges African Leaders to Break Free from Reliance on Foreign Assistance

0

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), has issued a compelling call to African leaders, urging them to shed the “supplicant mentality” that relies on foreign aid to resolve the continent’s challenges.

Fayemi emphasized the imperative for African leaders to discard the current development aid paradigm and, instead, embrace a bold stance in defending their rights and interests on the global stage, a pursuit that has eluded the continent for far too long.

He found it “demeaning” that African leaders are persistently summoned to the capitals of competing foreign powers, essentially begging for aid and support.

These remarks were delivered during his keynote address at the annual lecture of the Society for International Relations Awareness (SIRA), which bore the theme “Africa in the Turbulence of a World in Search of Direction.”

At the lecture, Fayemi, now a Visiting Professor at the School of Global Affairs, Kings College, London, passionately advocated for strong visionary leadership as the key to Africa’s rightful place in the tumultuous global order of our times.

He emphasized the pressing need for visionary leadership to chart a forward-looking course, fostering a strategic, coordinated, coherent, and unified approach among African nations to navigate the turbulence within the international system, as the world undergoes transformative changes.

Fayemi further stressed that African leaders must safeguard their populations from becoming “casualties and cannon fodder” as global interests vie for advantage.

He firmly asserted that the hard-won sovereignty of African countries must remain unassailable.

In conclusion, he underscored that Africa must be prepared to engage with the ongoing transition towards a multi-polar world order, which offers both challenges and opportunities.

To fulfill its potential, Africa must mobilize its leadership resources and strategic plans to play a significant role in the evolving global dynamics.

The event drew the participation of a diverse assembly, including prominent government leaders, current and former diplomats, ambassadors, and foreign government representatives.

We have documented 1,000 pre-election legal cases related to the 2023 polls, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

0

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported grappling with over 1,000 pre-election litigations leading up to the 2023 general election.

During a presentation at a two-day workshop in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, INEC’s Director of Legal Drafting and Clearance, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, addressed the issue, titled “Effects of Litigation on INEC’s Preparations for Kogi, Imo, And Bayelsa Governorship Election.

Babalola attributed these pre-election litigations to disputes arising from political party primaries, candidate substitutions, and parties failing to adhere to their internal rules and election schedules.

Pre-election litigation pertains to cases where the legal cause of action occurred before the actual election, as defined in Section 285(14) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

She emphasized that many of these cases stemmed from a lack of internal party democracy, where political parties didn’t adhere to their own rules and guidelines.

The unique nature of pre-election matters couldn’t be underestimated, as judgments in these cases could significantly disrupt planning, logistics, funding, and the confidence of election participants.

Furthermore, Babalola highlighted that judgments in pre-election matters could sometimes be delivered just before the election, preventing INEC from conducting elections for certain positions and necessitating the replacement of candidates after the printing of ballot papers, among other challenges.

She mentioned that, following the 2019 general elections, INEC was ordered to issue 94 certificates of return in pre-election matters.

Additionally, INEC had to withdraw seven certificates of return that were previously issued and reissue them in compliance with court orders during the 2023 general election.

According to Babachir Lawal, the APC has transformed into a party with a predominantly Islamic identity

0

David Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu and the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he perceives as a shift from the party’s original national status to what he calls an Islamic party.

He accuses the party of being insensitive and disregarding the rights of Nigerians by altering the party’s identity to suit their agenda.

In a recent statement from Abuja, Babachir Lawal challenges the ruling party to have the courage to rename itself the “Islamic Party of Nigeria.

This statement appears to be a response to criticism from the APC, following his assertion that Peter Obi, not Tinubu, won the 2023 presidential election.

Babachir Lawal stands by his position and urges the APC to address the issues he raised instead of attacking him.

He expresses his sympathy for a Christian within the APC who may feel pressured to conform to the party’s Islamic orientation.

He also points out that when the APC was founded in 2013/2014, it aimed to be a national party that embraced all socio-political and religious tendencies in Nigeria.

However, he believes that the party has now transformed into an Islamic party, evident in the religious composition of its leadership.

Babachir Lawal highlights that the current party leadership campaigned on an Islamization platform and suggests that all that remains for the party is to change its name.

He emphasizes that he wants a Nigeria that works for everyone, where freedom of speech is guaranteed, and citizens can pursue their ambitions peacefully.

He also criticizes the government’s handling of issues like the prolonged detention of the EFCC Chairman and the CBN governor.

In conclusion, Babachir Lawal firmly maintains his claim that Peter Obi had the majority of votes in the presidential election, asserting that both INEC and the APC behaved questionably in the election, which, in his opinion, validates his assertion.
