Terrorists flog abducted passengers, vow Buhari, El-Rufai’s abduction

0

The abductors of the abducted Kaduna-Abuja train passengers have released another video where the victims were being flogged by the terrorists.

The terrorists had attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, killing eight and kidnapping no fewer than 61 passengers.

The Managing Director of the Bank of the Agriculture, Alwan Hassan, was the first to be released after reportedly paying a N100 million ransom on April 7.

75 days after the incidents, the terrorists released 11 persons held in captivity which according to Tukur Mamu, the negotiator and media consultant to the Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, described as was achieved “following a series of robust engagement with the terrorists and with the approval of the Federal Government.”

However, on July 9, seven of the victims were later released after reportedly paying N800 million ransom.

The remaining 43 victims were told to pay N100 million to secure the release of their loved ones.

In the two minutes, 50 seconds video sighted by our correspondent on Sunday, the male victims were crying as they were being flogged by the terrorists.

One of the victims, a male said the terrorists don’t plan to keep them hostage for more than a week, except for the laxity of the Federal Government in paying up the demanded ransom.

He also called on the international community and the United Nations to come to their rescue as the Nigerian government was not showing any interest in setting them free.

One of the terrorists in the video vowed to abduct the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai and other prominent Nigerians and destabilise the country if their demands were not met.

The terrorists also threatened to kill and sell off some of the remaining Kaduna-Abuja train passengers in their custody.

He said, “This is our message to the government of Nigeria and just as you have seen these people here, by God’s grace, you will see your leaders; your senators and governors will come before us. These ones you are seeing here, we will keep some as our slaves and sell them off just as our Imam told you in the past.

“Just like the Chibok girls that were sold off, we will equally sell these ones as slaves. If you don’t adhere to our demands, we will kill the ones we need to kill and sell the remaining. By God’s grace, El-Rufai, Buhari, we will bring you here.”

I am ready to criticize your government if you derail or disappoint people- Adeleke’s Brother Threatens

0

Dr Deji Adeleke, elder brother of Osun Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has threatened to criticise him if his government derails.

Deji, a business magnate and Pro-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun spoke at the 8th undergraduate and 4th postgraduate convocation of the institution on Sunday.

The Governor-elect was one of the dignitaries that attended the convocation.

He faulted the poor leadership style of political office holders and Nigerians who sell their vote during elections.

The Pro-Chancellor maintained that citizens who collect money to install a leader lack the moral standing to complain or hold political office holders accountable during their administration.

According to him: “We just held an election in Osun State, forty-five polling units ad-hoc staff who are NYSC members did not show up in their designated polling units, meanwhile people were waiting to vote but the materials, result sheets and BVAS machines were taken to somewhere else.

This was until a Director in INEC started calling to make sure that those people reported to where they are supposed to, otherwise my brother wouldn’t have been the governor-elect today. Those corps members allowed themselves to be used…if you cannot hold a government accountable then we don’t have any future in this country.

I told the Governor-elect (my brother) and his colleagues I said ‘you’re lucky because you don’t have any godfather to refund any money to, so whatever people contributed for your election, it’s a sacrifice for a better Nigeria, for a better State, so you and your colleagues are not under any pressure, the only thing you need to do out there is to go and serve the people’.

“And I threatened them that I will be the first to call a press conference if I see things going wrong with his government. I will be the first to alert the world that your Governor (Senator Ademola Adeleke) is derailing. I’ve told him and his team not to allow anyone that is not ready to serve or who is looking for money to steal from the poor people into their team, Osun is a very poor State.”

Speaking to the graduands, he said: “Our young ones, do remember what you’re taught here, remember that the future of this country depends on you, seize up that future, make sure you register to vote, make sure that any government you don’t want or that is not serving right in your constituency is voted out, do not participate in bringing down this country, participate in all things that will bring up this country to the desired country that you want.”

Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Solomon Adebola, informed 848 students graduated from the school while 25 bagged first class honours.

A lottery kiosk operator, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, Mufutau Sanni, has been reportedly feared dead following injuries sustained while trying to separate a fight between an Hausa man and his Yoruba counterpart on MKO Abiola Way, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday.

According to a newspaper vendor, who witnessed the scenario, Mr Remi Abimbola, while speaking with Tribune Online, trouble started when an argument ensued between an Hausa trader and his customer, a development which caused Sanni to intervene with motive to resolve the matter.

Sanni’s intervention, however, did not go down well with Hausas who are majorly commercial motorcycle operators, which made them to descend heavily on him.

The attack on Sanni, according to Abimbola, was huge to the extent that he had to be rushed to a nearby hospital where unconfirmed report said he had given up the ghost.

Watch Out For Black Panther 2 premieres on November 11

Disney announced a slew of Marvel superhero movies including two new “Avengers” films Saturday at Comic-Con, as it offered screaming fans an emotional first glimpse at its upcoming “Black Panther” sequel.

The record-breaking Marvel movies have dominated Hollywood and global box offices in recent years, with 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” briefly becoming the highest-grossing film of all time at more than $2.79 billion.

“I wonder if you guys wouldn’t mind looking ahead a little bit?” studio president Kevin Feige asked the wildly cheering hall of die-hard superhero fans toward the end of a raucous hour-plus presentation at a San Diego convention center.

“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” will hit theaters in 2025, he then announced.

The films will aim to follow in the footsteps of “Avengers: Endgame,” which built unprecedented hype by rounding off storylines presented in all the preceding Marvel films.

The two new “Avengers” titles will conclude the next “saga” of more than a dozen inter-connected films and television shows in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe,” said Feige.

“That will complete the second saga of the MCU, which of course is ‘The Multiverse Saga,’” he said.

The Marvel franchise in recent films and shows has explored the “multiverse” concept popularized by superhero comic books, in which infinite universes — and infinite versions of each hero and villain — exist in parallel realities.

– ‘Black Panther’ returns –

The Marvel presentation capped off the biggest day at Comic-Con, and drew the week’s loudest and most frenzied cheers in the 6,000-capacity Hall H, where many had camped in line for days to gain access.

It ended with the first trailer for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” a sequel to the first comic book film to win a best picture Oscar nomination, set to premiere November 11.

Returning director Ryan Coogler, taking to the San Diego stage with a colorful troupe of African drummers and dancers, paid an emotional tribute to the first film’s star, the “late, great Chadwick Boseman.”

Boseman died from cancer in 2020, and his role is not being taken over by another actor in the new film.

“I promise you, I can feel his hand on me right now,” said Coogler.

“Chad is no longer with us physically, but his spirit, his passion, his genius, his pride in his culture, and the impact he made on this industry will be felt forever.”

Coogler then presented new characters in the franchise being played by Michaela Coel and Tenoch Huerta.

Coel, who won an Emmy for “I May Destroy You,” praised the unique “energy” of the first “Black Panther” film, which was widely seen as a breakthrough for Black representation in mainstream Hollywood movies.

“I think it’s got something to do with a Black superhero, padded out a clan of Black superheroes and what that kind of does for Black people,” she said.

– Marvel A-listers –

Other Marvel films announced Saturday by Disney at the world’s most famous pop culture gathering included “Thunderbolts” and “Fantastic Four,” both due in 2024.

Feige also set out dates for “Blade” — in theaters November 2023 — and the newly titled “Captain America: New World Order” coming May 2024.

Bill Murray and Olivia Colman join the ranks of Hollywood A-listers flocking to the Marvel franchise, appearing in first-look footage from movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and Disney+ series “Secret Invasion” respectively.

Chris Pratt, Paul Rudd, and Lupita Nyong’o also appeared on stage Saturday along with Jonathan Majors, whose “Kang the Conqueror” character appears poised to become a major new supervillain for the franchise.

Baby’s mother Grace alleged Yomi as a Fibber person

0

Grace Jimoh, the baby mother of actor, Yomi Fabiyi’s son, has described him as a player, liar and childish person. She also debunked claims that she snatched him from her friend.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, she said, “I don’t even know her (alleged friend). Yomi planned the lies very well. When I saw the video of him and the girl, I asked her about it and she said I should not worry because they were no longer together. The way he described the lady to me portrayed that there was nothing between them. He was just trying to play games.

“He was actually the one who invited me to come to Lagos in March 2021. He was planning to celebrate my birthday with me on April 4, 2021. That was what brought me to Lagos. He had not seen me before I came to Lagos. If he was not committed to being in a relationship with me, he would not have written, ‘Happy birthday my love’, on my cake. I noticed he was serious with our relationship and I liked him. He is just being childish with his recent claims against me. We were never married. We only had a child together.”

Reacting to allegations of domestic violence leveled against her by Yomi, she said, “In the video he posted on social media, I was heavily pregnant there. He said I pushed him out of the house. That was not true because we were both outside. All those videos he posted did not prove anything. He lives keeping fake evidence that does not prove anything.”

She also admitted that she felt hurt by Princess’ curses on her child. She said, “I have no issue with Princess. It was because Yomi supported Baba Ijesha during the child molestation issue that made her lay a curse on his son. Bringing children into the issue hurt me.”

On if she feels worried that other people may also lay curses on her child because of Yomi’s controversial lifestyle, she said, “It does not bother me because no one is God. It is well.”
