Your Structureless Label Turned Me Into An Errand Girl, Former YBNL Signee Temmie Ovwasa Knocks Olamide

Former YBNL signee, Temmie Ovwasa, has called out former boss Olamide over alleged maltreatment as an artiste under his record label.

Ovwasa, fondly known as YBNL Princess, while reacting to the sudden death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, shed more light on what life was as a YBNL signee.

According to the ‘Osunwemimo’ crooner, she lived in Olamide’s home, where she became an errand girl/nanny for his wife, Adebukunmi Adedeji, and their child.

Ovwasa, in the series of posts shared on her Instagram page Thursday, alleged that not only did Olamide refuse to fulfill his part in the record contract signed back in 2016, but he also humiliated with the album art for the 2018 YBNL joint project ‘YBNL MaFia Family.’

Ovwasa was the only featured artiste whose avatar was omitted and replaced with a photo of her face hanging off the wall.

“The joint album we recorded, why is my face on the wall, you misogynistic piece of shit.”

Speaking on MohBad’s sudden passing, Ovwasa noted that the pressure placed on artistes by fans and labels alike can be damaging.

She added that so many artistes have been labeled addicts and ingrates for daring to speak against injustice in their respective record labels.

“I came to Lagos to sing, your structureless label put me in a house with your wife, and she turned me into her freaking errand girl.

“Do you know how wild it is to answer ‘yes ma’ to a girl who is just two years older than you because you need to get your life on track?

“And don’t even get me started on the shady political affiliations that I can only keep quiet about if I don’t want to be unalived.

“Last last, I’m not Nigeria’s sacrificial lamb, and that one is not my story to tell. I hope MohBad rests in peace. You people have unalived him, go and eat his body.

“But I honestly will not forget this one. I can’t. He spoke up. We usually do but we are all addicts and ungrateful artistes. Continue.”

Government Issues Traffic Advisory as Third Mainland Bridge Prepares for Closure Due to Repairs

0

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge to facilitate essential repairs on deteriorated sections of the structure.

These repairs, conducted in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works and managed by the Lagos Public Works Corporation, will necessitate the bridge’s closure on two consecutive Sundays, September 17 and 24, from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm each day.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic during this maintenance period, Abdulhafiz Toriola, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, confirmed that traffic diversions will be in place to expedite the repair process.

The rehabilitation work will occur in two distinct phases, with the first phase concentrating on critical sections along the Iyana-Oworonsoki route leading to Adeniji Adele/Lagos Island.

A travel advisory has been issued to guide motorists.

Traffic from the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Alapere/Ogudu axis, heading towards Lagos Island, will be rerouted towards the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, providing access to Ikorodu Road/Funsho Williams Avenue, Eko Bridge, and Lagos Island.

For those traveling from Lagos Mainland through Herbert Macaulay Road (Adekunle axis) toward Lagos Island via the Third Mainland Bridge, they will be redirected to Murtala Muhammed Way, enabling them to use Carter Bridge to reach Lagos Island.

Motorists are urged to exercise patience and adhere to safety measures during the asphalt pavement repairs on the bridge.

To ensure efficient traffic management, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police, and other traffic personnel will be present to control and oversee traffic conditions.

Toriola emphasized, “We assure that despite the traffic impact on the alternative routes, LASTMA will be deployed to minimize inconveniences and ease movement along the affected corridors.

Various traffic agencies will collaborate with security and safety personnel to implement effective traffic management measures, enhancing safety, traffic flow, and capacity utilization throughout the repair period.

Sigidi kaSenzangakhona Zulu, King and Conqueror

0

Sigidi kaSenzangakhona commonly knows as Shaka was a great Zulu 🇿🇦 king and conqueror. He lived in an area of south-east Africa between the Drakensberg and the Indian Ocean, a region populated by many independent Nguni chiefdoms. During his brief reign more than a hundred chiefdoms were brought together in a Zulu kingdom which survived not only the d.eath of its founder but later military defeat and calculated attempts to break it up.

As he grew to m.anhood, Shaka began to discover new talents and faculties. Outwardly, he was tall and powerfully built, and his skill and daring gave him a natural mastery over the youths in his age group; inwardly, he was developing a thirst for power. Probably when he was about twenty-three years old, he was drafted into one of the Mthethwa regiments where he found a satisfaction he had never known before. With the impi in the iziCwe regiment, he had the companionship he had previously lacked, while the battlefield provided a stadium in which he could demonstrate his talents and courage.

His outstanding deeds of courage attracted the attention of his overlord and, rising rapidly in Dingiswayo’s army, he became one of his foremost commanders. At this time, Shaka was given the name Nodumehlezi (the one who when seated causes the earth to rumble). While in the Mthethwa army Shaka became engrossed in problems of strategy and battle tactics, and Dingiswayo contributed much toward Shaka’s later accomplishments in w.ar. Militarism was thereafter to be a way of life for him, and one that he was to inflict on thousands of others.

Remember the Great Shaka Zulu, founder of the Zulu kingdom, military genius…Ase!!!

Lawyer Warns of Potential Irreparable Loss for Artists – Mohbad Discusses

0

Human rights attorney Inibehe Effiong emphasized on Thursday that emerging artists may face insurmountable setbacks if they don’t enlist legal representation.

He strongly recommended that artists and entertainers incorporate legal counsel into their careers for robust advancement.

In a recent post on the microblogging platform X, Effiong stressed that anyone involved in the entertainment industry or related fields without legal representation is taking significant risks.

Effiong’s counsel to up-and-coming artists is clear: it’s imperative to have a lawyer as an essential component of your career.

Failing to do so, whether in entertainment or any other business, poses a substantial risk that could result in irrevocable losses.

He asserted, “This advice has saved lives.”

These remarks follow the recent passing of Nigerian singer Mohbad, who was laid to rest in Lagos State’s Ikorodu area last Wednesday.

The deployment of NAPTIP officers in ports has been authorized by the FG

0

The federal government has granted approval for the deployment of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) officers to various ports in Nigeria, as announced by Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Edu made this announcement during her visit to the Federal Ministry of Interior’s headquarters in Abuja, according to a statement by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Rasheed Zubair, on Wednesday.

The minister emphasized that internal security concerns, human trafficking, and migration are contributing factors to insecurity, humanitarian crises, and poverty across the country.

Edu highlighted the importance of collaboration between her ministry and the Ministry of Interior, led by Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to gather crucial intelligence necessary for effective humanitarian responses in Nigeria.

Edu stated, “My purpose in coming here is to have a quick discussion with you because your ministry plays a vital role in facilitating my work.

The President is committed to reducing the number of individuals exposed to humanitarian crises. Our success greatly relies on the effectiveness of the Ministry of Interior.

We require your support at all levels.

The heads of security agencies present in this meeting will collaborate with our team to gather intelligence on movements in and out of our country.”

She further stressed the importance of addressing issues like human trafficking, child labor, and sexual exploitation that contribute to humanitarian crises.

Edu mentioned that NAPTIP officers had received approval to be stationed at various ports and urged cooperation in border security. She expressed concern about the existence of numerous illegal borders in Nigeria.

Edu also mentioned plans to expand the social register to include widows of paramilitary officers who lost their lives in active service and to offer skill acquisition programs to inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Services through her ministry.

Minister Tunji-Ojo responded by stating that an inter-ministerial committee, headed by the two permanent secretaries from both ministries, would develop strategies to strengthen the focus of their collaborative efforts.
