Hermes denies dating Allysyn.

0

Naija’s big brother’s (season 7) housemate, Hermes Iyele, claims to have nothing to do with Allysyn, his love on the show.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, he said: “We were great. Just best friends for life. Beautiful, to say the least.

She’s doing really well with her brand and to be honest, I wish her the best. But we’re not in a (romantic) relationship. But we’re best friends, just going through life. Needless to say, it’s beautiful.

When asked how much his life has changed since he became part of BBNaija, he said: A lot has changed both positively and negatively. Before BBN, I had a lot of things I wanted to do but didn’t have the resources. There are many things I can do now. But I don’t even have time for that.

Iyele also mentioned that he has faced many punishments over the years. He said, “I have experienced many curses in my life. Before BBN, market women, children, and others who came from poor areas and didn’t know who I was, had a lot of opinions about me.

They said i shouldn’t wear too many earrings like a man. They also established that I always carried a syringe with me. And because of the way I present myself; As for fashion and my lifestyle in general. But I ignore comments that don’t say who I am. Criticism doesn’t really touch me.”

Regarding plans for 2023, the reality TV star said, “This year I will be introducing a clothing line. I danced a lot, but I plan to do more in the second half of the year.

“To give back to the community, Sunday Ozegbe and I have been ‘managing’ our community in Oworonshoki, Lagos for many years. We protest bad roads and violence in our community. And work them out. We created a template to celebrate life in our community and other places like ours.”

People envy my beauty – KimOprah.

0

Former beauty queen and former housemate of Naija’s older brother, Chinonso Opara, commonly known as KimOprah, says people often see her as beautiful.

“People criticize me for the strangest reasons,” she told journalist Hawa Magaji.

“How can you make me beautiful? Sometimes people antagonize celebrities and cause unjustified hostility.”

She also revealed that she broke up after the BBN activities.

“My life is full of grace and blessings,” she said. “Something happened and you’ll wonder why.

I was completely devastated after Big Brother.

I never told that story. “comfort zones” will take me anywhere.” I was completely devastated that I didn’t get to where I was.

I recall that I used to tell Denrele Edun to give me some of the gigs that were below his pay grade.”

Kim Oprah added that being raised by an independent woman like her mother helped her grow her business.

“Growing up with strong, independent women has helped me in business and in life in general.

She taught me not to wait for someone to do something.

If a man has to do something, he must do it himself.

I don’t wait for someone to do something for me, she said.

Why Movies Need Sex Scenes – Bolaji Ogunmola.

0

Actress Bolaji Ogunmola said that sometimes the film needs sex scenes to tell the story better.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “Sometimes I think it’s necessary to bring out certain aspects of the character being played. You can’t tell a story about prostitutes or strippers and fully dress them up.

When you need a story, the movie is really good.” If the sex scenes aren’t the first thing people think of, it probably matters how the movie made her feel.

Ogunmola, who received rave reviews for Before Valentine, said, “The official response to this film is so humble and touching.

I would be grateful if your work resonates with people.

I have experience playing Chika.” had to “refer” a college friend who was exactly the same character I knew from college.

I remember reading the script and thinking I wanted to play it. I think everyone knows or has seen chika.

It’s probably not a drama, but we all know the Christian sister who actually married Jesus.”

Scar’ star actor, chidi mokeme has disapproved of the destruction of public facilities, especially Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the country.

Naira crunch protest has been sparked off in some States across the country amid the lingering scarcity of the legal tender.

As tension continues to rise with the continued unavailability of naira notes to meet daily needs, many have started venting frustration by engaging in protest and utter destruction of financial institutions alongside other public facilities.

Rihanna announces new album in 2023, giving fans hope.

0

Superstar singer Robyn Fenty aka Rihanna has finally set the long-promised release date for her new album.

The business mogul, who has focused on multi-billion dollar brands in recent years, has hinted at a return to the music scene in seven years. Rihanna premiered her new song “Lift Me Up” from Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After and wowed Super Bowl viewers at the Sunday halftime show.

In a cover story for the March 2023 issue of Vogue, the mother-of-one explains that she never stopped making music, but has fallen in love with several over the years.

Finally, when asked if fans are looking forward to the new album, Rihanna replied, “I want to do it this year.

The Diamond star also promised visuals to accompany the album.

I want to make music and videos. And you need the right background music for your video. I can’t record video when I’m talking to myself,” she said.

Reminiscing on ‘Anti’, her last album released back in 2016, Rihanna said she felt a pressure to outperform the chart-topper.

“In hindsight, it really is my most brilliant album,” she confessed. “I say that because in the moment, I didn’t realise it. But it always felt like the most cohesive album I’ve ever made. When you break it down and you realise this album goes from ‘Work’ to ‘Kiss It Better’ to ‘Needed Me’ to ‘Love on the Brain’ to ‘Sex with Me’ to ‘Desperado’.

“But there’s this pressure that I put on myself. That if it’s not better than that then it is not even worth it.”

Fans continue to hope for her new project even as the singer just recently joined the mother’s club, and is currently expecting another child. After welcoming her first son with rapper, ASAP rocky in May 2022, the songstress rocked the Internet by revealing her second pregnancy during Sunday’s performance.

American actress Raquel Welch has died at the age of 82.

0

Raquel Welch, who paved the way for the actress and international sex symbol, passed away Wednesday morning at the age of 82 after a brief battle with illness. Welch first rose to fame with Fantastic Journey and One Million Years B.C.

She became an international sex symbol in the 1960s, best known for her role as a bikini-clad cavewoman in the film One Million Years B.C. I remember from 1966. However, despite her public image, she has long expressed discomfort with her body image, once saying, “I was not raised to be a sex symbol, and I am not a sex symbol by nature.”

The fact that I have become like this is probably the most beautiful, beautiful and happiest misunderstanding. Including the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in The Three Musketeers in 1974.

In 1995 Empire magazine named Welch one of the “100 Sexiest Stars in Movie History”…and included her in that ranking.

Raquel has been married four times and has two children, Tanya and Damon Welch.

The family of the late South African rapper Kiernan Forbes (aka AKA) has announced plans to release his upcoming album Mass Country.

Before his death, Forbes shared several posts on their social media to promote their new album due out this February.

According to a press statement posted on the artist’s official Instagram page on Thursday, the Forbes family will continue to post their work as planned “to honor his legacy.”

As the nation mourns the tragic and untimely death of Kiernan aka Forbes, the Forbes family is grateful for the love and support from South Africa and beyond.

The family continues to please the son. To honor their legacy, they have decided to continue with the release of their main country album scheduled for February 24, 2023.

At the request of the rapper, the song “Company” featuring Nigerian Kiddominant will be released on Friday ahead of the release of the full album next week.

Afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has expressed shock over the death of South African Rapper, Kiernan Forbes alias AKA.

Ogulu took to his Instagram stories where he shared an unreleased track in which he sang about the tragic death of the artiste.

According to him, he had advised AKA to purchase a gun after the latter had called him “wild” for owning one.

“WTF is all of that about? I just heard he died, seen that video at that restaurant. Took me out of a positive mood/ Took me back to that day when you saw my gun and you said I was wild/ Then I told you you should have one too,” he sang.

The ‘Last Last’ singer also referenced his beef with the rapper and stated that despite their differences, he never wanted him dead.

“But I didn’t want you dead, it was like that with me and you, have one too/ Cuz it weren’t like niggaz wasn’t dying but I thought you knew/ And I ain’t really f**k with you/

Wicked! I hope they catch whoever did you wicked/ I hope you rest in peace, even though we ain’t kick it/ At the end of the day we some grown ass ni**az,” he continued.

At the height of the 2019 xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa, Burna Boy condemned the act and threatened not to step foot in the country.

However, the issue escalated into a spat between him and the South African rapper on Twitter.

In a now-deleted tweet, Burna Boy had threatened AKA and asked the rapper to beef up his security.

“Next time, I see you, you better have a big security bro, on Gambo’s Grave, ur gunna need it(sic),” he wrote.

The South African artiste was shot dead in a drive-by attack at a restaurant in Durban, South Africa. His longtime friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, was also killed in the shooting.

Adeolu Adefarasin: An Open Letter to Nollywood

0

While the eyes of the world turn to Nollywood, your duty is not to feed the narrative, but to change the narrative. The stories we tell matter.

To the industry I love dearly,

Now more than ever, I believe Nollywood is on the precipice of greatness, the eyes of the world are facing you and you have a great opportunity to speak, to be seen and to be heard. For far longer than I have been an active member of this valued industry, many before me have dreamt of the day that the reach and influence of Nollywood would go far and wide. I know there is so much to be proud of.

In the same breath, I am aware that with such great influence comes a weighty responsibility that cannot be ignored. Amongst the many lessons of 2022, I have learned that it is harder to speak truth to power when you seek the help that power can offer. So, at this moment, I lay down my personal aspirations and hopes for what I believe is the greater good, not just of the industry but the many people it influences.

As Nigerians, we have not always been set the best example, not by our elders, not by our leaders – political or otherwise, and not even by our peers. In the midst of that, we managed, for a long time, to maintain hope and a sense of moral integrity – two things I believe are waning under the pressure of present circumstances and the everyday realities of most Nigerians. I believe it is your responsibility to restore hope and a moral core to the masses, I believe it is a responsibility that has been neglected for quick financial gain, I believe it is a responsibility that can be ignored no longer because our nation is at hand.

We cannot follow the footsteps of Hollywood, we cannot lose our moral centre and continue to glorify sexual depravity, corruption, hate and many more. I am so proud of the global success of Nigerians in industries such as music and fashion, but I fear it has come at the great expense of many souls. Music that glorifies drug use, yahoo yahoo and objectifies women. A fashion industry that sexualises everyone and promotes gender ambiguity. We have sold our souls to the highest bidder and my cry is that Nollywood does not follow suit.

It is easy to read this and believe I am acting morally superior. I am not. I am not without my many failings and faults, some of which, I am sure, are still in my future. It is also easy to read this and think of me in my office as a pastor, but I am not speaking only as a Christian, but as a Nigerian. I am writing this to Christians, Muslims and atheists alike. I do not believe these values are religious, I was not taught these values merely within the context of my home, but within the context of my nation. I believe at the very core, as Nigerians, we are good, selfless, kind and compassionate.

For far too long, the narrative on Nigeria and Nigerians has been 419, corrupt and inept leaders, police brutality, Yoruba demons, and so on. While the eyes of the world turn to Nollywood, your duty is not to feed the narrative, but to change the narrative. The stories we tell matter. It has brought me great joy in recent weeks to watch shows such as Far From Home. Unfortunately, productions like this are few and far between. Instead, we see more films glorifying ‘the bad guy,’ glamorising corruption and galvanising division.

Up until now, we have let the western world take advantage of our unpreparedness in the face of unrest, pain and desperation, to paint doubt in our own identities and values. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, but Nollywood, you are primed, poised and positioned to show that success does not have to come at the expense of our souls and to set the framework for the rebuilding of our nation.
