Actress Annie Idibia tenders an apology to all as she clocks 37 to her Hubby and Family

Recall that Annie called out 2face for hanging out with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi, while he vacationed in the US. This caused a lot of drama online with Annie, 2face’s brothers and her brothers going for each other’s neck. 2face had to apologize and sue for peace.

 

In her birthday post, Annie said it was so unwise for her to throw her husband out like that and apologized for the mental stress the whole incident put him through. She mentioned that she allowed her emotions make her act on something that wasn’t true because she was kept in the dark.

 

Her post reads;

Basketmouth has revealed that his first love was music

Popular Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth has revealed that his first love was music before he ventured into comedy.

The 43-year-old said this on Instagram on Friday.

According to him, he had to take a break from music because the timing was not right.

“Most people do not know this but music was my first love, then TV before comedy. I had to do it backwards as the timing wasn’t right & I hadn’t met a producer that can see music the way I see it……in its true form & color,” he wrote.

Wizkid Sets Record As 1st Nigerian Album To Spend A Year On Billboard Charts
Nigerian musician, Wizkid has set a new record on the Billboard world albums chart.
This comes after Wizkid’s album ‘Made in Lagos’ becomes the 1st Nigerian album to spend 1 year on the chart, according to Billboard Music.
After it’s arrival on the billboard charts in October 2020, the album has spent 4 weeks at no1, which is also the longest time a Nigerian artiste has stayed at the no1 spot – the only other album being Burnaboys twice as tall which was at the top spot for 1 week.
Longest charting Nigerian albums on the billboard charts are as follows:
1. WizKid ‘made in Lagos’ (2020) – 52 weeks
2. Fela ‘the best black president’ (1999) – 45 weeks
3. Burnaboy ‘African giant’ (2019) – 36 weeks
4. Davido ‘A good time’ (2019) – 25 weeks
5. Burnaboy ‘Twice as tall’ (2020) – 12 weeks
6. CKay ‘the first’ (2020) – 6 weeks
7. WizKid ‘Sounds from the other side’ (2017) – 4 weeks

Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele Celebrates 14th Anniversary Of ‘Jenifa’

Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele is celebrating 14 years of playing the character Jenifa in her self-titled series.

The actress made this known in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“Been playing the #jenifa character for 14 years!!” she wrote.

Funke got her breakthrough in Nollywood when she played the main character Suliyat aka Jenifa, a comedy-drama that portrays the life of a young girl struggling to make it in the big city.

With the success of the movie, the actress announced that Jenifa would be developed into a television series Jenifa’s Diaries.

Since then, Jenifa’s Diary has become a household name with 25 seasons and features celebrities such as Lota Chukwu, Falz and Lolo, Beverly Osu, JJC Skillz and many others.

Funke co-produces and directs the series with her husband JJC Skillz.

Music star CKay is Billboard’s November Chartbreaker

Nigerian music star CKay is the latest artist to be featured on Billboard‘s “Chartbreaker”, the magazine’s series spotlighting an artist making their introduction to the charts.

CKay is the Chartbreaker for November 2021, but it was his 2019 song “Love Nwantiti” that gave him his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, thanks to a viral TikTok challenge and multiple versions which have been released.

The song climbed to the top 40 on The Hot 100 chart and to No. 2 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. and Global 200 charts. It also claimed the No. 1 spot on Shazam’s Global 200 chart.

“Social media definitely played a role – and it wasn’t only TikTok. It was also Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The world discovered it one person at a time,” CKay says.

Inspiration behind the Song

In the Billboard interview, CKay says he was in love while making “Love Nwantiti” and the inspiration came to him while he was making beats and freestyling in his living room.

He describes his own kind of Afrobeats as Emo Afrobeats. It is “my own spin on Afrobeats,” he says adding that he finds particular joy in creating it.

“Emo Afrobeats is a way to express myself, my emotions and my sound and still have a groove to it,” he explains. “Plus I’m a cancer, so my energy is basically emotions.

Debut Album

“My album is going to be my best work yet… because I’m going to put my whole soul and essence into it,” CKay tells Billboard.
